DISABILITY SWIM CLASS - PROGRAM MANAGER
75% Remote, 25% In-Person

SNAPkids - Special Needs Aquatic Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving children and young adults with disabilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1991, SNAPkids has provided accessible community-based swimming to an underserved population of children with complex conditions which alter their health and quality of life. Through swimming, children develop pride, self-confidence, and friendships while having fun. Volunteers build meaningful relationships that foster respect, diversity, and inclusion, helping to create more equitable communities.
The Opportunity
We are a small but mighty team on a mission to support children with disabilities. We’re looking for a team player to join us in spreading the message of respect, community, and inclusion while coordinating our classes and expanding our programs. We are seeking a team member who is personable, highly organized, and capable of managing deadlines and unexpected changes. They should have a growth-oriented, forward-thinking mindset and a strong dedication to creating positive and successful experiences for our community. The goals for this position include ensuring our programs run safely and smoothly, maintaining a well-trained staff, fostering a strong sense of community, and helping us expand our offerings to serve more families.
The Role
Class Organizing
- Create and maintain master schedules for weekly classes and clinics
- Oversee the registration process and update forms in collaboration with registration associate
- Develop weekly class schedules for each site
- Work with texters and schedules to ensure maximum participation
- Manage active participants, substitutes, and waiting lists
- Maintain attendance records and session metrics
- Procure and maintain supplies and equipment
- Update and send out surveys to participants
Management
- Supervise aquatic staff - support site coordinators, deck supervisors, pool leaders, and pool volunteers
- Serve as a liaison with facilities for calendars, contracts, insurance, equipment storage, and special requests
- Conduct in-person site visits to active programs at least once a month and visits to assess potential new sites
- Oversee volunteer and swimmer recruitment
- Develop budgets for site-specific and special programs
- Manage program fees
Staff Training
- Coordinate staff trainings
- Oversee all training needs related to the pool program
- Develop and update training materials as needed
- Create video training components and/or downloadable materials
- Assist in developing a resource library and/or helper site
- Engage with aquatic professionals to stay updated on training techniques
- Support professional development in adapted aquatics
Participant Recognition
- Implement touch point opportunities to recognize participants
- Identify gifts for holidays and year-end
- Coordinate, track recognition, and gifts for participants
- Develop and implement special recognition initiatives
New Programs
- Develop and implement summer programs, swim clinics, and family clinics
- Identify and evaluate potential new location options though site visits; develop programs around them
- Develop proposals, budgets, and implementation plans
- Support staff training and curate, update, and create digital content
Additional tasks as requested by the director.
Skills
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in aquatics; lifeguarding and instructing experience preferred
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience working with the disability community
- Managing groups of people, motivating and leading others, building community identity
- Managing data through spreadsheets, shared platforms with high proficiency, accuracy, and organization
- Excellent written, verbal, and proofreading skills, including the use of inclusive language
- Strong time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Proficiency and competence with these platforms: Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slide, Sites, etc.); Microsoft Office Suite

Job Details
- Hours Per Week: 25-30 (with potential for increased hours and advancement opportunities), primarily during school year
- Location: Remote, with on-site visits in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Rate: Depending upon Experience (DOE), W-2 employee, 403(b) matching
