SNARR Northeast is seeking one full-time and one part-time Kennel Assistant with a passion for animal welfare to join our team! Here at SNARR Northeast, we are a team dedicated to “giving hope to the hopeless” and providing and preparing our animals for a chance at a happy and loving forever home.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Kennel experience is preferred (but not required as we are willing to train the right candidate)
- A love of dogs is a MUST
- Good work ethic
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong animal handling skills
- Understanding or willingness to learn dog behaviors
- Reliable and dedicated to the well-being of our dogs
- MUST work well as part of a team
- Ability to cultivate positive customer, volunteer, and coworker relations through professional, courteous, and educational interactions.
- Good communication skills are required
- Can multi-task and can work well under pressure as this is a fast-paced job
- Not afraid to get their hands dirty
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Work cooperatively with all volunteers and staff members, recognizing the talent and commitment they bring to the organization
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Feeding and giving medications if needed
- Cleaning and sanitizing dog areas
- Laundry and dishwashing, housekeeping of public areas
- Walking and enriching our dogs
- Transporting animals to appointments
- Interacting and helping volunteers, adopters, and guests

Job Requirements:Applicants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver's license. Please note this job is not suitable for students or those seeking seasonal employment. This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $15.00 per hour. Expected hours are 40 per week. We rotate weekends and holidays.
