What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Solutions Architect position at SNC?
- Customer Demonstrations: Responsible for designing and executing demonstrations for potential customers to support Business Development initiatives, showcasing the capabilities and benefits of TRAX solutions.
- Requirements Elicitation and Prioritization: Lead the process of gathering and prioritizing customer requirements to support Agile software development roadmaps, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and software product management goals.
- Architecture Development: Build detailed architecture blueprints and software product roadmaps that solve high-priority and complex business problems, ensuring solutions align with Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards, and patterns across business, data, applications, and infrastructure layers.
- Emerging Technology Integration: Drive the incorporation of new and emerging technologies into the existing TRAX infrastructure through active participation in Internal Research and Development (IRAD) initiatives, enhancing product capabilities and future-proofing the TRAX product line.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate coordination with business area leadership, architects, and SMEs within the assigned business organizations, as well as Business Development leadership, to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.
- Travel Requirements: Travel up to 50% annually for customer engagement, business development, exercise support, and integration support to end users, ensuring hands-on involvement and direct customer interaction.
- Decision-Making Support: Act as a primary source for prioritization decisions along with Technology and Business Development teams on software pipeline decisions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer needs.
- Staying Current on Technologies: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable technologies to the TRAX product line and JADC2 strategies, efforts, and technologies, ensuring ongoing innovation and market relevance.

Active participation in Internal Research and Development (IRAD) initiatives, integrating emerging technologies into the existing infrastructure to enhance and future-proof the TRAX product line.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Typically, 14 years experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, with a strong background in designing and implementing technical solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise architecture, system integration, and software development methodologies.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services.
- Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in solution design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus among stakeholders.
- Progressive hands-on experience with wireless networks, tactical communications, and personal computers, including experience in drafting reference architectures, designing, developing, and integrating applications
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships effectively
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with customers professionally
- Advanced understanding of the fundamentals of tactical datalinks and how to integrate them into military operations
- Solid experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience in selling to the Department of Defense (DoD), particularly within the Special Operations and Intelligence Communities, and supporting business development qualification processes
- Ability to possess a DoD clearance specific to the contract, obtain the applicable medical examinations for deployments, and willingness to fly on military aircraft in support of operations around the globe
- Expert knowledge in Link-16, Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), Mobile Adhoc NETworks, (MANET), TRAX, and various other protocols/military tactical data links
- Ability to understand customer requirements, develop robust Tactical Datalinks hardware/software solutions in order to fully support the mission Tactical Datalink capability
- An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with Agile and DevOps practices
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Mil-STD Protocol Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding Military Standard (Mil-STD) protocols and their applications, particularly Link 16, VMF (Variable Message Format) is highly desirable.
- Software Development Expertise: In-depth knowledge of modern software development architectures and integration patterns.
- Military Experience: Direct experience with US military operations, especially in Fires and Communications, is highly desirable.
