Sr Software Engineer - Open Missions Systems (OMS) Subject Matter Expert

You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and software throughout our development process. Your technical duties involve the design and development of new software products throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

• ThoroughunderstandingofComputer Aided Engineering tools

• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices

• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

• Proven experience in developing and implementing Open Mission Systems (OMS)

• Strong understanding of OMS standards, protocols, and interface

• Proficiency in system architecture and design principle

• Proficiency with software development and integration in an OMS environment

• Working knowledge of software concepts, including programming languages, software architecture, and development methodologies

• Experience in working with distributed teams and managing subcontractors or vendors

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

• Familiarity with project management tools and techniques, such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall

• Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into actionable project plans and deliverables

• Experience in working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements

• Familiarity with software development best practices, such as code reviews, testing, and documentation.

• Ability to identify risks

• The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Understanding of industry standard software languages such as C, C#, C , HTML, Java, Python, and Bash

• Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build

• Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral

• Proficient with data structures

• Experience with military and defense systems.

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as they apply to OMS

• Experience with embedded systems and designing & developing software that interacts with hardware

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
