Position Summary
Summary :
The professional registered nurse (RN) / lactation consultant (IBCLC) assumes responsibility for the nursing care provided to breastfeeding patients and their families. The role of the RN / IBCLC includes :
assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care in a variety of situations
anticipatory guidance and prevention of problems,
complete, accurate, and timely documentation of care
communication and collaboration with other health care professionals
Qualifications
Responsibilities : Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred).
- Must complete internal Nursing Orientation program successfully and in a timely manner.
- Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital / Nursing).
