What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Science Instructor (Cybersecurity/Office Administration) position at Snead State Community College?
The Instructor is responsible for the planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom or online instruction and related activities. Â The Instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any College campus as assigned. Â As a minimum, the related activities include instruction, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations.
Preferred- Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in the areas of Cybersecurity and Microsoft Office Applications.
Preferred- Professional certifications in the field such as MOS, CompTIA A , Net , Security , and CySA .
Preferred- Ability to teach courses in other areas of academic study.
Preferred- Three (3) years of successful full-time work experience in the Information Technology field.
Preferred-Â Experience teaching at the college level is preferred. Â Experience teaching online courses preferred. Â Experience with student engagement and/or civic engagement is also preferred.
Preferred-Â Industry experience in the following areas preferred:Â Office Administration Technologies (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), Networking Fundamentals, Cybersecurity, and Machine Virtualization.

- Assume personal responsibility for instruction in all classes assigned.
- Instruct Cybersecurity courses off-site in a dual enrollment format.
- Assist in departmental projects, such as the preparation/selection of departmental course syllabi, collection and analysis of learning outcomes data, selection of textbooks/materials, etc.
- Master software and technology as needed in order to enhance instruction; develop, and deliver web-based instruction in accordance with standards set by the College.
- Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
- Foster a customer service environment for fellow employees, students, and visitors.Â
- Be an Ambassador for the College. Support the college's initiative to maximize retention of current students and enable students to finish their collegiate goals.
- Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the ACCS Chancellor's Office, and the College.
