Job Description

Snelling is recruiting for experienced CNC Operator, for an established manufacturing company in the Trussville area!!

Pay to start : $25.00-26.00 / hr, depending on experience

Shift : Mornings,5 : 30 am-2 : 30pm

The CNC Operator will perform the following tasks : Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters. Interprets geometric dimensions and holds tolerances for parts such as spacers, pins, axles, and gears. Paint and apply finishing coats in accordance with blueprints and / or customer specifications. CNC Mill experience is required.

JOB DUTIES for CNC Operator :

Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Operates overhead cranes / crane hoists to move materials.
Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, mic, and measuring equipment.
Set up and operate machines for cutting gears.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Works well with others by showing mutual respect and consideration.
Takes pride in work produced and exhibits a professional attitude.
Performs additional duties as required.
The CNC Machinist must be able to Program the CNC Machines
Receive tool paths from the server and enter CNC machines.
Prepare material for machining (drill / tap holes and milling).
Program to run tool paths.
Interpret provided construction drawings and implementation.
Maintain a clean workspace.

Skills & Abilities :

Knowledge of programming 3 axis vertical CNC machines.

Must be versatile. Able to maintain and keep multiple machines running simultaneously.

Work from provided drawings / sketches.

Hold close tolerances.

Basic use of manual machine shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses and milling machines.

Interpret manufacturing drawings.

Use of measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.

Use of grinders to sharpen tools.

Ability to interact positively with co-workers.

Safety conscious.

Dependable. On-time. Self-starter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for CNC Operator :

Must have at least 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Operator

Able to read blueprints.

Demonstrated ability to modify material by drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, and threading material into parts and holding tolerances to specifications.

Demonstrated ability to perform simple computer operations, such as clocking in or out of work.

Must pass a math test (basic math, geometry, and trigonometry).
