Snelling is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable ADA Administrative Support Specialist (Part-Time) to join a great company in the Birmingham area. This role supports the efficient operation of the Civil Rights Compliance Department by handling administrative tasks, coordinating communication, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation. The position is essential in helping the department maintain compliance with federal, state, and local civil rights regulations.

Pay : $18 / hr

Responsibilities for the ADA Administrative Support Specialist (Part-Time) :

  • Serve as the first point of contact for phone calls, emails, and inquiries related to Civil Rights Compliance programs, including ADA, Title VI, and DBE.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and recording minutes for internal and external meetings, including the Paratransit Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain organized records and files for ADA, DBE, and Title VI program documentation.
  • Track and report data for compliance activities, such as DBE participation and ADA service metrics.
  • Support the preparation of reports, correspondence, and other documentation required for federal and state audits or reviews.
  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasks related to compliance programs.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and scheduling training sessions for compliance-related topics.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the Civil Rights Compliance Manager.

Qualifications / Education Required for ADA Administrative Support Specialist (Part-Time) :

  • High School Diploma or GED required, associate’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 years of administrative support required, preferably in a compliance or public service environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of civil rights compliance programs and regulations is a plus but not required.
