Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Language Speech Therapist to join our team at a local School Dist here in El Paso. The ideal candidate will have a background in Pediatric Language speech therapy, particularly in early intervention and pediatrics. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders in children, and working collaboratively with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to support each child's communication needs.
For this position, the work days a year are 235 days a year due to a lot of Holidays that you are paid for during the year. Plus they have a GREAT benefit package!! And will let you work your own schedule. So flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language skills in pediatric patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and specific needs.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication abilities, including articulation, fluency, and language comprehension.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Educate families on strategies to support their child's communication development at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Stay current with best practices in speech therapy, including advancements in medical terminology related to speech disorders.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Therapist.
- Experience in early intervention and working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to speech production.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices.
- Excellent patient assessment skills to identify individual needs effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and their families.
