RF Filter Engineering Technicians

Our client company has been producing precision crystal filters for radar for over sixty years and designs and manufactures RF & microwave solutions for data timing and radio frequency spectrum control in high reliability and harsh environment applications. In aerospace and defense markets the company’s digitally tuned filters support secure communications in the presence of electromagnetic interference. Low drift, highly accurate oscillators provide reliable frequency lock for ground, vehicle, air and satellite communication as well as electronic countermeasures. Vibration and shock resistant crystal clocks sharpen radar images and help monitor commercial aircraft engine performance. For Internet communication, their very low noise and packet sync clocks help increase bandwidth and prevent data loss in cellular base stations, micro and femto cells and Wi-Fi access points. Millimeter wave filters ensure corporate and telecom point-to-point links stay error free. On the lab bench or consumer electronics production test floors, the company’s ultra-low noise frequency reference oscillators insure accurate measurements. When public safety is paramount, wide temperature range/waterproof cavity filters ensure reliable radio communication. Satellite links, phased array radars and anti-IED jammers use their RF power amplifiers to boost the signal to the antenna. The company has an immediate need for several Filter Engineering Technicians, RF Filter Focused to fulfill contract to direct hire positions.

Position Summary:

The function of this position is to set-up, test, align and troubleshoot LC filters, cavity filters, tubular filters, crystal filters and any other filter topologies or electronic products the company may decide to pursue. This person will also be able to mentor and assist other technicians by helping them find, understand and solve problems. Work with engineers in implementing and troubleshooting new filter prototypes. Compiles and analyzes data and records with regard to test results, and changes made on prototypes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

ŸSet-up test equipment and perform alignment and testing of filters with no assistance.

Ÿ Read schematics and drawings specific to the product being tested.

Ÿ Work from engineering red-line drawings and schematics.

Ÿ Recommend and implement changes on prototypes to improve performance and/or meet customer requirements.

Ÿ Work and provide guidance to assemblers as required.

Ÿ Troubleshoot product to the component level.

Ÿ Keep supervisor and cognizant engineer informed of any delays which may cause a late shipment to the customer.

Ÿ Perform other duties as may be assigned or as necessary.

Ÿ Must be able to work on ITAR items without a license

Knowledge, skills, & Abilities:

ŸMust have a strong knowledge and understanding of filters and their components and have the ability to tune them to a required specification.

Ÿ The Filter Engineering Technician should have good communication skills and be able to work well with others.

Education, Experience, & Training:

Ÿ A minimum of 3 years as a technician in an RF troubleshooting environment.

Ÿ This person should be experienced in the use of oscilloscopes, network analyzers and other equipment used in electronic testing.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
