We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a premier real estate investment firm in Texas, for an experienced Controller. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to drive financial strategy, oversee financial operations, and contribute to the company's growth. Role Overview :
The Controller will lead financial planning, analysis, reporting, audits, and compliance while managing the accounting department's daily functions. This role includes working closely with the CEO / Director of Accounting and the executive team to develop and implement strategic financial decisions that support company growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct and manage all accounting operations related to corporate, development, and construction projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 accountants to ensure productivity and high standards.
- Oversee cash flow, financial forecasting, risk management, and working capital strategies.
- Interface effectively with external legal teams, auditors, lenders, and third-party CPA firms.
- Implement and enhance financial controls, processes, and cybersecurity measures, with a focus on automation to streamline operations.
- Establish and enforce accounting policies that comply with GAAP.
- Coordinate training and professional development of accounting staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Act as a primary liaison between financial stakeholders, company ownership, and senior leadership.
