What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Collections/Billing position at Snelling?
Snelling Staffing is in need of a medical collections specialist for a company that has been in the Baton Rouge area for generations. This local clinic maintains a high volume of patients, so the ideal candidate must be able to manage a HIGH CALL VOLUME. This position will be a cross between medical billing and medical collections, so candidates will need experience in both fields.
Hours : 8 : 00AM - 5 : 00PM
Pay : $17-$20 per hour
Position Duties :
- Collect payments on outstanding claims
- Research denials, refills, and unprocessed claims
- Refund credit balances for assigned payors
- Monitor reimbursements assuring contracted fee schedules are being followed
- Issue appeals to payors for any claims processed incorrectly
- Post payments and back-up customer service department when necessary
