SNI Companies is looking for an Accounting Assistant to support our client. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of relevant experience and strong organizational skills.
Pay Rate: $23.00 an hour
Full-time, in office position - Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM
The Accounting Assistant assists the Accounts Payable Clerk and other accounting personnel with a wide-range of duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phones, checking general voice mail
- Coding and entering Accounts Payable invoices in a timely manner
- Scanning invoices and files to Share Drive
- Assist with weekly disbursements
- Help maintain electronic DOT files for equipment and vehicles
- Key approved journal entries
- Use various soft wares - Microsoft Office Excel/Outlook/Word, Sage 100, Quadient (Beanworks)
- Retrieve vendor invoices from vendor websites
- Assist with bank and general ledger account reconciliations
- Follow all company procedures and accounting principles
- Respond appropriately to vendor and internal requests
- Maintain “How To” manual for position
- Other miscellaneous tasks as requested by management
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years Accounts Payable or Accounting clerk experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Sage 100 experience a plus
- Computer literacy, strong typing skills, and experience with Word, Excel, email
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Courteous, professional manner, work well with others
- Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information
- Willingness to comply with all company, local, state, and federal regulations
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, focus, meet deadlines
