POSITION SUMMARY

Supports accounting operations by developing internal controls and policies, preparing financial reports, managing journal entries, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and verifying the accuracy of accounting data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties :

  • Provides comprehensive administrative support to management, which includes overseeing office communications, monitoring budgets, handling purchasing, scheduling, and managing workflow.
  • Prepares and evaluates detailed financial statements, reports, and projections.
  • Conducts regular financial assessments to detect patterns, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Offers strategic insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.
  • Maintains precise and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensures adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitors and reconciles balance sheet accounts.
  • Implements and upholds robust internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Performs routine audits to verify compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with external audits by providing required documentation and support.
  • Assesses and suggests improvements to financial systems and processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.
  • Seeks opportunities to automate and streamline financial operations to enhance productivity.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve processes and ensure data accuracy.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Strong expertise in accounting and financial principles, standards, and industry regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws and government regulations impacting the company.
  • Highly organized with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Skilled in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Competent in standard office and accounting software.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently and completing tasks without supervision.
  • Process-driven - adept at identifying essential processes, optimizing workflows, and simplifying complex tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Expertise in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
  • Preferred experience in the construction, manufacturing, production, or service industries.
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and email communication.
  • Comfortable using electronic devices for work tasks.
