SNI has an immediate opening for an Estimator specializing in site-work construction to join a well established and reputable Construction company located in Baltimore County, MD!

This is an exciting opportunity for an up-and-coming Estimator who wants to continue to grow their skillset within Estimating, and grow into a Project Manager role.

The ideal candidate will be an eager, hard-working, Construction Estimator who is willing to assist our senior estimators.

This position collaborates with our estimating department and operational leaders to coordinate and perform various estimating functions for one or more disciplines (e.g., earthwork, utilities, drainage, asphalt paving, site concrete, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Performs or coordinates quantity takeoff, assembles direct cost estimate and analyzes alternate construction methods to determine cost effectiveness.
• Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, bid tabulations, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports and the job costs system into unit cost, man-hour and crew production figures.
• Reviews proposal specifications and drawings, prepares lists of bid items and quantities.
• Recommends vendors and subcontractors for the project; discusses and obtains appropriate quotations in coordination with the Purchasing Department.
• Interfaces with owner, architect / engineer and subcontractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
• Reviews design options and recommends best solution based on cost, value engineering or availability of materials.
• Assists in tracking awarded contracts as assigned through review of cost reports and discussions with Project Teams.
• Performs other estimating and project duties as assigned.
• Requires occasional day travel to attend pre-bid meetings, visit job sites and / or to attend conferences or training classes.
