Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer evaluates current production processes to assess their efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance quality, reduce cycle times, improve ergonomics and safety, and ensure process control.
This role is responsible for determining the appropriate tools—such as hand tools, drill motors, power tools, cutting tools, and wrenches—while striving to standardize them across assigned work areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Process Planning: Analyze and optimize the sequence of fabrication, assembly, and installation within assigned areas, focusing on efficiency, quality, ergonomics, and process consistency.
- Technical Interpretation: Review and interpret engineering drawings and models to develop effective manufacturing processes for specific production areas.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in developing Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) as needed and ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and site requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: May create clear and detailed work instructions, tool usage guidelines, and manufacturing bills of materials using ERP/PLM systems.
- Tooling Design & Maintenance: May contribute to the design and improvement of tooling while assisting with its maintenance to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Integrated Product Teams, suppliers, and customers to support program development and execution.
- Configuration Management: Use ERP and PLM systems to validate assembly configurations and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
