What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at SNI Companies?
Purpose :
To ensure product integrity through documentation review, dimensional checks, and visual inspections.
Product :
Parts and products in known condition, either conforming or non-conforming.
Metrics :
Performance is evaluated against time standards, with minimal inspection errors, dimensional discrepancies, or documentation issues.
Essential Duties :
- Review the workbag for necessary documents such as prints, routers, history sheets, and additional materials (e.g., SPC, sketches, serial number lists, P.O.s, certifications, MEFs).
- Check the router for accuracy, ensuring prior operations are signed off, revision levels are correct, and quantities match.
- Inspect packaging (wear gloves as necessary), count parts to ensure no extras, conduct a 100% visual inspection, and verify serial, forging, and heat numbers as required. Ensure edge breaks are verified as needed.
- Examine the job folder and cover for necessary details and requirements (e.g., F / A, Critical / Major parts, Flight Safety, Primary or Level I parts, ESA, VSE, frozen processes).
- Verify that all required inspection documentation is complete up to the current operation and revision, including F.A.s, IMS forms, charts, data sheets, certifications, and sketches.
- Follow router instructions, perform necessary inspection tasks, and ensure all inspection documentation is complete, dated, and stamped. Ensure customer requirements are met when completing documentation. Note actual dimensions before processes such as coating, heat treating, or plating.
- Complete the MEF form as needed and attach relevant documents for non-conformance issues.
- Ensure all required information is recorded on the router, including MEF #, P.O. #, history sheet notes, and setup ticket details.
- Before moving parts, verify they are properly packaged and protected, apply oil where necessary, and place the completed workbag with the assigned lot of parts. Close out operations visually, sign off, and close subsequent ops that are no longer needed, with appropriate comments.
- For parts at the inspect-for-stores operation, perform tasks listed in steps 1-9 (wear cotton or latex gloves).
Additional Responsibilities :
A. Review customer P.O.s for general requirements and material certification packages to ensure required operations are complete.
B. Ensure F.A. is completed and signed off as required.
C. For assembly routers, ensure cover sheets are copied and attached to final IMS, and review assembled parts for completeness.
D. Parts must be clean and free of fingerprints.
E. Complete the stores sheet.
11. Complete DSQR, DQCR, DQR, or other activities as required.
