What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager, Financial Controls position at SNI Financial?
A publicly traded company with their headquarters located in downtown Chicago is looking to hire a Senior Manager of Financial Controls. This is a newly created role due to continued growth within the company. Working within the Controllership department, the Senior Manager will be monitoring regulations/controls around new ESG standards, working cross functionally with other departments to enhance internal controls, and act as a liaison between the Controllership, Audit, and external public accounting firm.
- Oversee the control implementation and project management oversight of GHC emissions by conducting walk throughs, developing controls, and advising on recommendations
- Ensure compliance with new ESG regulatory reporting requirements and internal policies by examining the consistency of disclosures across different regions
- Identify compliance gaps for ESG regulatory reporting disclosure efforts and make necessary updates to procedures, disclosures, and policies
- Act as an advisory business partner to other departments within the company and maintain strong relationships with external auditors/public accounting firms
- Be the go-to subject matter expert for financial controls and identify solutions to standardize controls & enhance processes
- Lead training and coaching for new & enhanced controls
- Act as a liaison between the Global Controllership, ESG, and external auditors to enhance controls and compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- CPA
- 7 years of public accounting experience preferably in a Tier 2/Big 4 firm
- Experience leading PCOAB audits
- Proven experience with SOX 404 and internal controls
- Strong relationship building skills
- Strong communication skills both written & verbal
- A process improvement mindset focused on enhancing efficiency

Salary : $155,000 - $175,000
