Key Responsibilities :
- Network Design and Implementation :
- Design, configure, and implement reliable network solutions to meet the company's requirements.
- Work on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting :
- Monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.
- Provide support for network-related issues, including troubleshooting connectivity problems, latency, and packet loss.
- Conduct network assessments and recommend improvements to enhance performance and scalability.
- Security and Compliance :
- Ensure network security through proper configuration, monitoring, and patch management.
- Implement network security protocols, firewalls, and VPNs to safeguard sensitive data.
- Stay updated on network security threats and best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configuration files, and network monitoring reports.
- Prepare periodic reports on network health, performance, and capacity.
- Collaboration and Support :
- Work closely with other IT teams, including system administrators, security teams, and help desk staff, to ensure network reliability and performance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and technical staff.
- Network Performance Optimization :
- Evaluate, test, and optimize network performance and troubleshooting techniques to improve user experience and minimize downtime.
- Ensure continuous uptime and availability of mission-critical services and systems.
- Upgrades and Maintenance :
- Assist in the planning and execution of network hardware and software upgrades.
- Perform regular system maintenance, including firmware updates and patches for network equipment. Qualifications :
- Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience :
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or a related IT field.
- Proficient in managing complex network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, wireless networks, and cloud networks.
- Technical Skills :
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP / IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network hardware.
- Familiarity with network management tools and monitoring software.
- Experience with firewall management, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Experience in wireless networking, including access points and controllers.
- Certifications (preferred) :
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
- CompTIA Network or equivalent.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (optional).
