We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the extra mile philosophy to fulfill our Staff Accountant - AP role. The Staff Accountant - AP is responsible for various tasks within the accounting department, including reconciling general ledger accounts, maintaining weekly and monthly schedules, assisting with month-end duties, ancillary reporting, AP check management, and supporting Accounts Payable functions.

Responsibilities:
- Reconcile balance sheet general ledger accounts weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or annually, as they pertain to Accounts Payable.
- Maintain various schedules and spreadsheets, ensuring they are up-to-date.
- Assist with ancillary reporting as needed.
- Process escheats for uncashed AP checks.
- Support AP check management, including clearing checks and reviewing the outstanding check list.
- Assist with reconciling the company purchase card program.
- Ensure the accurate reflection of AP transactions within the financial records.
- Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
- Assist with journal entries, month-end duties, and other accounting-related tasks.
- Assist with monthly journal entry accruals.
- Cross-train with other accounting staff in various functions.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and values of Snider Fleet Solutions.
Education or Experience:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related fields; four-year degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years' experience within the industry or a related management position.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills, and close attention to detail.
- Exceptional math skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
- In-depth knowledge of financial reports including P&L, General Ledger, and KPI analysis.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and operate other software (AS400, SAP, BTN, etc.)
- Superior customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment, scanner, facsimile machines, calculators, postage machines, copiers, etc.
- Sensitivity to all confidential matters.
- Reliable and dependable with self-initiative.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities.
- Proficient with 10-Key.
- Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and client base.
- Ability to understand and meet month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deadlines.
- Ability to work overtime based on branch or department needs.
- Understanding of industry standards and practices in accomplishing these standards.
- Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure and time constraints.
- Analytical skills, including research, ability to interpret data, and ability to analyze information.
- Ability to train and coach in administrative practices.
This position is based at the companys corporate office. The majority of this position will consist of normal office tasks and interaction amongst peers and Snider branches.
