Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and outgoing Veterinary Receptionist to join our A team. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. Our success starts and ends with reception! The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and staff.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, monitor email, and provide accurate information regarding services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries.
- Assist veterinary staff with patient intake, including gathering medical history, performing basic assessments, and client education.
- Ensure the reception area and lobby is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Educate clients on proper animal care practices, including vaccinations, and preventative medications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is required.
- Knowledge of pet care, animal handling, vaccinations, and surgical pre and post op instructions.
- The ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and treatment plans.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately, demonstrating proficiency in animal restraint techniques.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care.
Hours of operation
- Tuesday-Friday: 7:00AM-5:00PM LUNCH HOUR 1:00PM-2:00PM
- 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month: 7:00AM-1:30PM
Compensation
- Starting pay is $16/hour but is variable based on experience
- After 9 months of exceptional employment is eligible for 5 days PTO a year
- Major holidays off with pay
