Retail Buyer/ Manager (Blazer)
Location: East Rutherford, NJ Reporting to: General Manager

Big SNOW is North America’s first and only real snow, indoor, year-round ski and snowboard resort. We share our passion of sliding on snow with our guests.
How the Retail Manager/Blazer works with the Team:
The Retail Blazer will lead the retail buying, merchandising and inventory management of our Retail sales floor This position works closely with the Guest Experience Trail that provides the guest facing sales and guest experience. This position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team of Big SNOW.
Team Member Responsibilities:

Responsibility for the budgeting, expenses, profit and loss and revenue sales for Retail operation.

Deliver visual merchandising standards, and ensure these standards are maintained.

Maintain vendor relationships and manage inventory levels and cost of goods through varying seasons.

Manage daily operations of product fulfillment, retail sales, merchandising, ordering

Establish work procedures and processes that support the company and trail standards.

Proactively evaluate service gaps and guest situations to quickly remedy.

Oversee inventory levels, cycle counts, markdown strategy and inventory accuracy.

Create and maintain an online retail program.

Maintain daily communication of updates, vents, products, discounts, prices and SnowCloud updates.

Follow up on guest reviews for service recovery.

Work with Marketing to ensure all promotional codes are operational and reviewed with the team.

Manage service guidelines for the team
- Other duties as assigned and needed.
Qualifications
Team Member Qualifications:
-
3 years of formulating buying plans, store merchandising, store floor- planning, and sell-thru planning

3 years overseeing a retail store, preferably in the winter sports or outdoor recreation industry.

Maintain a team culture that is flexible toward change.

Experience with online retail management preferred.

Flexible work schedule; available to work nights, weekends, holidays as needed.

Travel as needed (trade shows, conferences, etc), expected less than 10%.

Roll-up sleeves attitude with a hands-on approach to the work.
