The Director of Girls Hockey is pivotal in the strategic planning, development, and execution of the youth girls' hockey program. This leadership position is responsible for driving the program's success and achieving its business objectives. As a people manager, the Director of Girls Hockey will oversee staff dedicated to managing Recreational, Select, and Tier girls’ programs, ensuring high-quality delivery and participant satisfaction. This role demands a leader who can lead their team into the future of this program, hire and manage inspired staff, cultivate a positive environment, and foster the growth and development of young athletes in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
Primary Job Duties
- Develop and Implement Strategic Plans : Lead the creation and execution of strategic plans for the girls' hockey program, including setting Tier levels, organizing league and tournament play, and advancing player development initiatives.
- Financial Management : Construct annual budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage spending to align with financial forecasts and business objectives of the program and Association.
- Staff Management : Hire, supervise, and support staff overseeing Recreational, Select, and Tier girls’ teams, ensuring effective team management and high-quality program delivery.
- Coaching Recruitment : Assist in the recruitment of both volunteer and paid coaches for both recreation and select teams, ensuring that qualified and motivated individuals lead each girls team.
- Collaboration with Leadership : Work closely with the leadership team to align the girls’ hockey program with key business goals and strategic plans.
- Marketing, Promotion, and Public Relations : Partner with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies across various marketing channels, raise awareness and participation in the girls’ program, and assist in public relations activities to enhance the program’s public image and community engagement.
- Player placement and development : Partner with third-party consultants, academy and college coaches, and other representatives as identified to evaluate player skills and facilitate optimal player placement. Ensure the integration of best practices in player training, monitor progress, provide feedback, and support athletes in achieving their full potential on and off the ice.
- Compensation may vary outside of the posted range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses / incentives.

Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association is dedicated to youth hockey on Seattle’s Eastside. Established in 1964, Sno-King has provided the opportunity for players ages 4 to 18 to participate in select, recreational or beginner hockey. The organization includes 60 youth teams with almost 800 players comprised of 52 co-ed and 8 girls only teams . The program boasts five previous USA Hockey National Championships, six second place finishes throughout Nationals history, plus numerous state, district and local championships. Sno-King is the largest hockey organization in the region who also operate 3 Sno-King Ice Arenas with five ice sheets. Within our thousands of alumni are several players that have played in the NHL, WHL, college and major “junior” programs.
