Job Summary: Under the direction of the Building Administrator and Special Education Teacher, will assist with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Paraeducators assist students with the unique needs outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). This vital role involves providing direct support to students, helping them access their education through academic support, behavior management, and fostering independence. While you may work one-on-one with a student or within small groups, it is important to note that assignments are not fixed to specific students. Staff members are assigned based on current needs and teacher discretion, which allows us to adapt and reassign support to maximize effectiveness for all students. This position requires effective collaboration with other staff to implement necessary accommodations and strategies that promote student success. Please refer to attached job description for specific responsibilities. This is a temporary position for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.
Special Duties/Responsibilties: The candidate will work across six different classrooms (one per class period), supporting students who need extra assistance. Special attention will be given to one student in particular, who speaks Spanish and uses a phone app for verbal translation. While Spanish fluency is not required, it would be an advantage.
Salary Range: $26.71 - $30.32 Paraeducator B per 2024-25 Public School Employees Salary Schedule
Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.

Work Schedule
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- Paid Hours: 6.5 hours per day
- Lunch Break: 30 minutes unpaid break
- Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet one (1) of the following:
- Have received a score of 455 on the ETS ParaPro (https://www.ets.org/parapro),or a qualifying score on the Pearson Paraprofessional assessment or Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program;
- Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Upon hire, must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
