Job Summary: Under the direction of the building principal, is responsible for helping to enable each student to pursue his or her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This position is specifically for prospective substitute teachers with the willingness and availability to accept substitutes teaching assignments on short notice.

2024-2025 Certificated Substitute Pay Rates
$215.00 Per Full Day of guest teaching for Snohomish School District
$230.00 For long term assignments (21 consecutive days in the same assignment) *
$260.00 For long term assignments (45 consecutive days in the same assignment) *
All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results of background checks with prior employers/professional references; satisfactory outcome of a criminal history background check (includes fingerprinting); and satisfactory outcome of sexual misconduct information from prior school district employers.

- Willingness and availability to accept substitute assignments on short notice
- Demonstrated ability to employ effective teaching methods
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective classroom management
- Experience with, knowledge of, or commitment to the following is highly desired: Team-oriented teaching, integrated instruction, inclusion model, active learning/cooperative learning, and developmentally appropriate instruction
