Description
Under limited supervision, the Seasonal Grounds Keeper position is intended to assist in maintaining the grounds and facilities looking their best. This position will be responsible for the outdoor and common areas around the Tribal campus that are utilized on a daily basis.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain grounds and landscaping for a clean and professional appearance.
- Clean around various buildings, parking spaces and walkways to ensure the areas remain clear and safe.
- Take on special planting or landscaping projects as assigned.
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on lawn care equipment and tools.
- Follow all safety and hazardous materials practices and procedures. Report any hazards to Manager.
- Maintain good working relationships and effective communication with employees and departments.
Additional Duties:
- The Tribe values its commitment to community service and the well-being of its members. In recognition of this, each employee may be expected to perform duties from time to time which may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbally) with diverse populations in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion.
Education & Experience:
Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, if not currently attending High School.
Experience:
- Previous landscaping experience preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid and unrestricted Washington State driver’s license required.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
- Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
Work Environment:
- Work environment varies and requires the ability to work long hours in inclement weather.
- Work will include manual labor and the use of hand and power tools for prolonged periods of time.
- Work environment will also include construction environments where safety precautions may be necessary.
Tribal Preference:
The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals.
Additional Information:
- Hourly, compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $20.09 per hour.
- This position is a permanent full-time position and employment is at will.
