Job Purpose and Position Overview:
The Steel Pipe Fabricator/Welder position is an hourly, overtime non-exempt position that will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, and ensure smooth operation of those systems. This position requires preexisting training and aptitude for welding. Snow policy allows for the use of company issued radios in this position - phones and earbuds are not allowed.
We use 90% dual shield at this facility. If you do not have professional dual shield experience (outside of schooling) you will not be considered for this position at this time.

- Brazing qualified ABS or Coastguard
- Pipe fitting
- Hull insert installation
- Threading (setup, tear-down and sizing)

Sheetmetal layout general tasks
- Construct templates/patterns
- Prepare detailed sketches from drawings manually
- Prepare auto bend sheets

Cutting and burning
- Perform oxy-fuel flame cutting semi-automatic methods
- Perform oxy-fuel and plasma cutting using torch

Sheetmetal assembly
- Assemble and fab ventilation components using shop equipment

Physical Requirements:
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced shipyard with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity. The individual will be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard vessels. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; to work at heights. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and/or on the weekend. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
