All Snow’s associates deliver unparalleled customer service while maintaining a nursery that is safe, neat, and prepared with the garden products that our customers need. As a Garden Center staff person you will:
- Greet customers.
- Practice safety techniques while on the job.
- Safely deliver plants and materials to customers within a designated geographic area of our operation.
- Must have the ability to lift various kinds of materials (root balls, small boulders, mulch bags, etc). Heavy items will be moved with equipment as needed.
- Navigate local roads (some gravel roads), lift and move plant material, and ensure professional deliveries are made with an emphasis on the Customer Experience.
- Maneuver safely on the job site, including the customer's driveway, lawn, and pathways in a non-invasive manner.
- Meet established deadlines and delivery windows based upon the weekly schedule created by the Delivery Coordinator.
- Communicate effectively among various team members including the Delivery Coordinator, the Garden Center Manager, and other team members as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized delivery vehicle, taking note of all repair work and preventative maintenance.
- Report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly to a supervisor.
- Create a customer-focused environment where our clients consistently enjoy an excellent experience within the culture of an independently-owned garden center.
- This is a Part-Time job classification and is generally scheduled 16-24 hours in the months of Spring and Summer 2025. More hours may be granted based on the needs of the store. Normal schedule is 2-3 days per week, between Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with some flexibility based upon needs of the operation. No weekends are required.
NOTE: This is a back-of-the-store position with a focus on loading and preparing deliveries for customer purchases. This position reports to the Supervisor. Other duties may include:
- Planting single trees with the assistance of another team member.
- Watering the plant material as needed.
- Spreading several bags of mulch.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Driver’s License with no pending infractions. No CDL is required.
- 3-year prior experience in freight, delivery, and/or equipment operation.
- Knowledge of safety techniques for proper lifting, use of PPE, and vehicle safety
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; may lift over 50 pounds with or without assistance
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working in the landscape construction industry.
- Completion of a training program in Equipment Operation.
- Prior experience and/or licensure with a CDL Class A and/or Class B
