Business Development Support Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our Business Development team as a Business Development Support Specialist. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our business development activities by managing data, supporting customer interactions, and conducting valuable research to inform strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and thrive working alone in their own office in Cambridge, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management
- Enter, maintain, and update data across various business development databases accurately and promptly.
- Regularly audit databases to ensure all information is current and complete.
Customer Engagement & Meeting Coordination
- Schedule meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Reach out to customers for updates, clarifications, or follow-ups as needed.
- Document meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure follow-through on deliverables.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct research on customers, industries, and competitors to provide actionable insights.
- Prepare concise debriefs and summaries on research findings.
- Learn and navigate various systems and tools to gather and analyze data effectively.
Administrative Support
- Manage calendars and schedules for business development activities.
- Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation as required.
Proactive Task Management
- Actively seek new tasks and responsibilities to support the team’s goals.
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and suggest solutions.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Office Suite tools.
- Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize information independently.
- Self-starter with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to work independently.
