Banquet & Events Manager Reports to : Food & Beverage Director, Food & Beverage Service Director Supervises : Clients, Events Coordinators, Banquet Supervisors, and Banquet Support Staff Classification : Exempt Core Competencies and Expectations : Promote the Club’s dining facilities for private events, business meetings, social gatherings, and all member activities. Plan, coordinate, and execute all banquets and Club events. Foster and maintain professional relationships with members and guests. Identify and act on opportunities to enhance revenue and satisfaction across event services. Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment with Club goals and maintain effective communication with all departments. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Maintain a polished, professional appearance and set a high standard for service excellence. Ability to manage stress, prioritize tasks, and stay calm under pressure. Communicate effectively across all departments and staff to ensure smooth operations Job Summary : Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all banquet services, Club holidays, and events. This role includes developing contracts and sales, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring that all administrative and operational aspects of event management are carried out to exceed members' and guests' expectations. The role also involves hiring, training, and supervising banquet staff to deliver top-tier service. Essential Functions : Leadership : Lead and manage all banquet and event staff to ensure the highest standards of service are met. Fosters a positive and collaborative environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth while promoting a positive culture. Ensure compliance with all Club policies and procedures. Set clear performance expectations for staff and provide constructive feedback through regular performance evaluations. Design and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and service quality. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth event service delivery. Operations : Promote and market the Club’s event facilities for private functions, meetings, events, weddings, and social gatherings. Assist members and clients in planning events, banquets, luncheons, weddings, meetings, dances, and other social occasions. Work with the Food and Beverage Director, Service Director, and Executive Chef to determine menu options, pricing, and event details. Oversee contract development and pre-event planning; ensure up-to-date menu offerings. Coordinate all event logistics, including communication with service, production, and housekeeping teams. Supervise event setups and breakdowns, ensuring room layouts and décor meet event specifications. Responsible for scheduling of banquet and event service staff. Provide hands-on service when needed and assist in event orchestration. Respond professionally to member and guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints, informing the Food & Beverage Director and Service Director of all actions. Ensure adherence to dress code policies for event staff. Approves weekly payroll and service charges distribution. Assist with creating operational (BEO) and financial event reports; take corrective action to achieve budgeted goals. Creates diagrams, room layouts, banquet items placement, and relative event details. Facilitates pre-event meetings to ensure preparation and alignment before event execution Secure necessary permits for events and functions. Critique events and implement improvements for enhanced quality. Ensure the safety and security of members’ and guests’ belongings during catered events. Manage event billing and ensure prompt payment processing. Ensure successful planning and execution of all member and club holiday events. Club events : themes, debriefs, working with members on event planning Safety & Sanitation : Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of all food and beverage service equipment and facilities. Ensure new employees receive proper training in safety protocols and document training completion in personnel files. Conduct regular inspections of event spaces to ensure cleanliness and order. Ensure compliance with energy management and preventive maintenance standards. Qualifications Education and Experience : High School diploma or GED; four years of relevant experience in a banquet management role is preferred. Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations in the hospitality industry is preferred with catering / event planning & execution experience Other Functions : Attend required meetings and contribute to the development of the department and Club. Assume manager-on-duty responsibilities when necessary. Plan and implement professional development activities for staff. Act as liaison between culinary and service staff. Complete special projects assigned by the Food and Beverage Director. Conduct regular inventories of equipment, china, glassware, and silverware. Licenses and Certifications : Food Safety Certification Alcoholic Beverage Certification (TIPS) Physical Demands and Work Environment : Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
