Job Description:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and attentive House Monitor to join our residential treatment program. As a House Monitor at Snug Harbor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and accountability of our clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the activities of residents within our residential treatment facility, ensuring adherence to program rules and guidelines.
- Conduct regular room checks to maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance with program regulations.
- Enforce house rules in a compassionate and respectful manner, addressing any behavioral concerns or rule violations promptly and effectively.
- Support residents in their daily living activities, including meal preparation, housekeeping chores, and personal hygiene routines.
- Facilitate group activities and recreational outings to promote socialization, healthy leisure activities, and community engagement among residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident activities, incidents, and observations, adhering to program protocols and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate closely with our clinical team and case managers to provide updates on resident progress, concerns, and any observed changes in behavior or mood.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Previous experience working in a residential treatment setting, group home, or similar environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and boundaries with residents and colleagues.
- Knowledge of addiction recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
