Job Summary: The Receptionist’s role is responsible for providing excellent service to all customers, visitors, and callers. The role is also responsible for providing administrative support to the funeral home staff, ensure the funeral home is properly prepared for and equipped with hospitality and office supplies, and is neat, tidy, and presentable for guests. Proper professional attire will be required at all times. The receptionist will set the tone for providing an excellent customer experience.

About the Business: Located in the heart of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory serves the community from its beautifully designed funeral home in Cornwall Township and was previously known as the Porterfield Funeral Home, which was owned and operated by funeral director Jim Porterfield. Built in 2010, our modern funeral home and on-site crematory was thoughtfully designed to meet the growing needs of the Lebanon community. With a spacious chapel and a flexible layout, we can accommodate services of all sizes, from intimate gatherings to larger funerals.

Essential Job Duties:

Greet and assist all visitors and guests.

Answer inbound telephone calls, give accurate information to callers, route calls to the appropriate party, and place outgoing calls.

Keep the business calendar updated, including the schedule for services and arrangements.

Organize and schedule appointments.

Tidy public areas, meeting rooms, and the reception area and stock them with supplies needed for guests and day-to-day operations.

Perform light housekeeping as needed.

Prepare and distribute reports and information as needed.

Maintain supplies inventory and place orders for supplies.

Input data into forms and various computer systems accurately, completely, and timely.

Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.

Complete special projects as assigned.

Perform other office duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in office administration or other related fields.
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using business software systems (such as CRM systems).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in phone etiquette and professional communication.
  • Strong proofreading skills for editing documents and correspondence.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time while using the computer, telephone, and other associated office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach to stock and retrieve items necessary to the business.
