Commercial Painter

Snyder Engineering, Inc., is a multifaceted Steel Fabrication Company involved in the fabrication of structural steel components and specializing in miscellaneous steel structures of stairs and handrails.

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of a Painting Technician. The job will consist of spraying primer and finished paint coatings to metal surfaces. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Major Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• The Painting Technician will learn our process for applying primer and finished paints to metal and other surfaces.
• Previous experience painting such surfaces is required.

· Prime and paint unfinished metals surfaces.

• Maintain spray paint guns and equipment in the paint area.
• Complete pre-start equipment checks.
• Accurately maintain required records and documentation for each project.
• Responsibly manage consumable supplies and raw materials.
• Help load finished products onto flatbed trailers and trucks.
• Safely operate fork truck
• Follow all company safety requirements and standards including the use of respiratory equipment, protective clothing, protective lenses/googles, steel toe boots etc.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Other painting task as required by the paint shop manager.

Requirements:

• Recommend parts and equipment, as needed, to shop supervisor and purchasing manager.
• Keep a good inventory of stored material, varied sizes, and location.
• Be able to strictly follow work instructions, have good diligence and be quality minded.
• Must work well in a team environment and be self-sufficient when working alone.
• Can work with minimal supervision from manager.
• Work easily and skillfully with hands.
• Physically – Lift up to 75 LBS; frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing 25 to 50 LBS.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
• Reliable Transportation.
• Position Qualification Minimums:
• One year painting experience is required
• Be able to lift seventy-five (75) pounds
• Dependable with a good attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable Transportation
• Must work well with others and in a team environment
