Positive Overview
This is a developmental role. You will begin as an inside sales support person responsible for the sales and marketing activities within Tank's subsidiary Snyder industries specifically its Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) division. As part of your development you will learn the products, customers, and applications. Ultimately, your position will evolve into outside sales, and a promotion into a Regional Sales Manager Position for high performance.
This position is based at the Corporate office in Lincoln, NE and reports to the National Sales Manager for the IBC sales division.
Essential Duties
- Responding in a timely manner to incoming tasks (responding to requests for quotes, order , technical question assistance, product selection, resolving customer issues).
- Outbound activities would include following up on quotes, opportunities and leads and maintaining account relations.
- Providing support to Outside Regional Sales Managers, Manufacturer’s Reps and Distributors and being responsible for promoting all aspect of exceptional customer service.
- Assist Regional Sales Managers with sales duties (answers customer questions by phone & e-mail, prospecting and entering information into CRM system, and preparing quotations)
- Gathering information to fulfill orders and transfer order information to customer service to be entered; communicating with customers on stock status, lead times and expected delivery dates of orders.
- Develop accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting, reporting and tracking complaints.
- Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities.
- Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
- Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in training and educational opportunities.
- Accomplish department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous sales or customer service experience a plus
- Degree preferred by not required if adequate previous sales or customer service experience
- A positive attitude with the ability to build strong relationships with coworkers, customers and partners.
- Successfully perform duties with a sense of urgency.
- Must be persistent, action-oriented and results-driven.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Data entry skills and experience in using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software, Microsoft office applications, and ERP systems.
- Travel will be required with this role
