Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpenter Apprentice to join our team at Snyder Stairs the premier custom woodworking and stair manufacturing shop in the Lehigh Valley. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in the carpentry field while gaining hands-on experience in a climate controlled woodshop. The Carpenter Apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced carpenters, assisting in a variety of tasks that contribute to the successful completion of staircase assembly and manufacturing.
Duties
- Assist in the assembly of staircases utilizing various handtools and measuring devices
- Work with hand tools and hand-held power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks.
- Participate in the safe operation of various pieces of wood working machinery
- Support shop efficiency by maintaing a clean and organized workspace.
- Learn to operate CNC machinery under supervision for precision cutting and shaping of materials.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience or coursework in carpentry or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and basic carpentry techniques is advantageous.
- Exposure to the contruction or carpenty industry is a plus in areas like framing, flooring, cabientry, furniture making.
- A willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a well supported work enviroment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
