POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Provider Relations Specialist is essential for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers while ensuring smooth recruitment processes and contract management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding new providers, negotiating and creating contracts, and acting as a liaison between the organization and providers to support effective partnerships. This position will contribute to our efforts to ensure quality care delivery and a robust provider network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provider Recruitment:
- Identify and target potential healthcare providers (physicians, specialists, cetc.) to join SIHF Healthcare.
- Conduct outreach efforts, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to recruit providers and promote the organization’s services and benefits.
- Assess provider qualifications, credentials, and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential providers to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Organize and participate in recruitment events and networking opportunities.
Contract Creation & Management:
- Develop, negotiate, and execute contracts with healthcare providers in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure that provider contracts are consistent, clear, and beneficial for both parties.
- Review and update existing contracts as necessary to ensure they align with changing company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all contract documentation and compliance with deadlines.
Provider Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for providers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues or concerns related to contracts, billing, and operational processes.
- Provide ongoing support and communication to ensure satisfaction, retention, and optimal performance of providers within the network.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address any provider-related concerns and implement solutions.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Track and report key metrics related to provider recruitment, contract execution, and performance.
- Assist in strategic planning to expand or improve organizations offerings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience working with healthcare provider networks or managed care organizations.
- Familiarity with electronic healthcare systems (EHR/EMR) and other industry-related software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in complex situations.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in provider relations, recruitment, contract management, or a similar role within the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, compliance standards, and provider contracting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with contract management software (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position is primarily sedentary and involves the performance of non-strenuous activities of an administrative nature. A valid driver’s license and insured automobile are required.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday dayshift. Attendance at off-site meetings will be required with no overnight stay. Occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
