What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer - J525 position at Soap Creek Resources?
The Quality Engineer collaborates with project teams through APQP phases to prevent quality defects in product and process design and development. Responsibilities include statistical data analysis, reporting of measured quality results, and addressing quality issues in production. The role focuses on corrective actions for recurring or high-cost defects, driving towards zero defects.
Duties : Including but not limited to :
- Support design and process engineering APQP efforts by applying established quality control disciplines.
- Provide technical expertise in core Quality tools : APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, Process Capability Studies.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure proper application of quality characteristics.
- Contribute to DFMEA and PFMEA processes to address potential failure modes before production.
- Ensure prevention / detection devices (fixtures, gauges, etc.) are incorporated in product development.
- Conduct measurement system analysis (e.g., gage R&R studies) and analyze repeatability and reproducibility.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret control charts to maintain process stability.
- Define and analyze process capability studies, identifying specifications and developing sampling plans.
- Participate in pilot and pre-production runs to validate processes against Control Plans.
- Investigate and seek corrective actions for internal MRB issues and monitor manufacturing MRBs.
- Support Securing Quality initiatives by preparing and sharing quality information with production teams.
- Perform statistical analysis and reporting of process and measured data.
- Drive continual improvement to reduce costs, enhance quality, improve on-time delivery, and increase productivity.
- Ensure compliance with QMS and EMS requirements.
