Job Summary
We are looking for creative and energetic Hip Hop Dance Instructors to teach elementary-aged students in an after-school setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for dance, a strong understanding of Hip Hop movement, and the ability to develop fun and engaging choreography for students. Classes will be held on campus at various elementary schools in Washoe County, and instructors will be responsible for creating age-appropriate routines that are both exciting and educational for the students.
Responsibilities
- Teach weekly Hip Hop dance classes to elementary-aged students (grades K-5) during after-school hours.
- Develop and choreograph routines suitable for the students’ skill levels and age groups.
- Create a fun, positive, and encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to learn and participate.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during classes.
- Communicate with students, parents, and Soar Academic Tutors staff regarding class progress, upcoming performances, and any necessary updates.
- Foster teamwork, discipline, and respect within the dance environment.
- Maintain an organized and prepared class environment.
- Travel to different elementary schools within Washoe County as needed (transportation required).
Qualifications
- Dance or Cheerleading background required (Hip Hop preferred).
- Previous teaching or coaching experience is a plus, but not required.
- Passion for working with children and fostering their creativity and self-confidence.
- Ability to create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate choreography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation to travel between school locations.
- Must be punctual and organized.
- A positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
