Now, back to our job description! With 3 to 6 years of experience of planning in California, you will know how to research, ascertain a regulatory environmental path forward, and manage, write, and deliver all facets of CEQA and NEPA planning documents in California. From an EIR/EIS to a CATEX and everything in between. Your experience will aid you in working with our management team during client and prospect meetings, understanding their environmental requirements, and articulately recommending a path forward toward successful procurement of the project. You will work with our experienced team, being a 'planning' voice and motivating them in the successful completion and submission of environmental documents on time and on budget. You will work with jurisdictional planning departments and know how to successfully communicate with them in support of our clients with planners. You will report to the Senior Planner and Planning Manager within our small planning department. You will serve as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) specialist within the company, reviewing documents technical reports produced by our team. Experience in the CEQA/NEPA process
Working with all stakeholders, from developers to lead agencies, to complete each step in the process efficiently
Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources
Openness to working on tasks delegated to you from other departments
Identifying and managing potential challenges of multiple projects
Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Communicating with Senior team members to keep the project aligned with their goals
Performing a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) on project documents and technical reports throughout development to maintain the standards expected
Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
Reporting to the Senior Planner and Planning Manager
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
Experience in Air Quality Analysis a plus
Understanding of the Project Planning framework
Knowledge of various project planning methodologies
Proven leadership skills

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, or similar
