A Day in the Life of:

As a member of our team, you will provide leadership to the staff working in our Summer Camp program. This includes providing oversight of all camp operations and programs, providing a clear strategic vision for future programming and growth, and setting a welcoming, inclusive culture with camp programs and employees. Responsibilities and Duties:

Strategic Vision & Leadership

• Lead a team of program supervisors, direct support professionals (summer camp counselors), seasonal camp employees, administration staff, volunteers, and interns.
• Coach and lead employees by providing training, support, and growth opportunities.
• Provide strategic leadership for organizational goals and program development.
• Drive the implementation of departmental goals.

Quality & Evaluation

• Ensure program quality and sustainability for programs.
• Ensure program meets DBHDS guidelines and America Camping Association guidelines and all regulatory documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Develop and facilitate training alongside training coordinator to staff and volunteers working within program.
• Provide critical support to the recruitment and retention staff and volunteers.

Operations & Oversight

• Supervise and coach Office Manager, Summer Camp Supervisor, and Direct Support professionals (summer camp counselors).
• Maintains visibility within Summer Camp services by providing oversight to supervisors and staff.
• Responsible for creation of budget and financials for all programs. Works with VP of Human Services to create budget and forecast for the year.
• Engages with families, guardians, and community service boards on a regular basis and positively reflects SOAR365.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 5 years' experience leading teams in a paid or volunteer capacity, experience with operating programs or services
• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
• Experience with overnight or summer camp, working with people with disabilities, and Medicaid Waiver funding preferred
• QIDP/QDDP preferred
• Strong leadership skills and training.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge and experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
