A Day in the Life of:
As a member of our Summer Camp team, you will provide supervision and instruction to activity specialist and camp counselors employed in our Summer Camp program. You will be responsible for leading counselors in ensuring the general safety, well being, and enjoyment of the campers. Your people skills will come in handy and will help you to maintain fantastic professional relationships with your fellow team members and those that we serve. This position serves as a role model for the staff of Camp Baker.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversees all Activity Specialist in planning and caring out meaningful activities (arts and crafts, nature, recreation, horseback riding, paddle boating, music, and swimming).
- Ensures that quality activities are occurring daily.
- Ensure evening activities are being completed by activity specialist each night.
- Assist Activity Specialist with ordering and maintaining supplies.
- Does weekly checklists (required by ACA to stay in compliance).
- Rotates to assist activity specialists throughout the day.
- In the case of any incident Head Counselor will ensure Supervisor is made aware, all required documentation is completed, policy and procedures for incidents are followed and the Compliance Director is contacted.
- Acts as a floater between cabins as necessary to assist cabins with camper personal care needs.
- Responsible for ensuring that each of the Lead Counselors complete daily documentation as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of college preferred but not required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in the areas of special education, psychology, recreation, therapy preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
- Ability to give and take direction; possesses strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lead individuals, small groups and large groups of both staff and campers.
- Knowledge of programs/activities in camp environment preferred.
