What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wait Staff/Server position at Soaring Eagle Water Park and Hotel?
Position Summary:
To serve our guests in a timely and courteous fashion to their area of choice in our restaurants and represent our organization well through professionalism and service excellence. Although the Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel is an enterprise of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, it operates under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Orders and serves food and refreshments to patrons.
- Removes trays or waste in a serving area, maintains and follows sanitation requirements.
- Cleans and stocks service station or work area.
- Communicates effectively with Service Supervisor, co-workers, and general public.
- Promotes and sells products and the amenities of Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel.
- Possess the ability to professionally and/or properly serve food and beverage products in accordance to the dining concepts.
- Assists the management staff in daily service operations.
- Works in an efficient, timely, and organized manner.
- Understands and enforces the alcohol policy.
- Possesses the ability to operate the MICROS POS system, related to clocking in and out, opening and closing guest checks and accurately ordering food and/or beverages.
- Possesses the ability to accurately handle and account for cash and any other accepted method of payment.
- Completes opening and closing “side work” in a thorough manner.
- Willing to follow documented procedures and verbal instructions.
- Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Safety Hazards:
Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with delivering of drinks and food. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and walking required. May require walking on wet and slippery floors, or in freezers and coolers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
· 18 years of age.
· Six (6) months to one (1) year related food experience and/or ninety days cross-training within the SEWPH F&B Service Department.
· Successfully pass TIPS Alcohol Management and ServSafe Food Safety certification courses within the first 90 days of employment as a condition of continued employment.
· Pre-employment background check.
Preferred:
Native American.
