Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the daily operations within the ASC.
This role is accountable for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of patient care, human resources, medical staff affairs (e.g. credentialing), vendor management, third party insurance relations and accounts receivable functions of the facility.
This position can be full-time or part-time employment and will be on-site in the surgery center in Charlottesville, VA.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Running the day-to-day operations of the ambulatory surgery center
- Ensuring clinical and facility compliance with federal, state, and local laws/rules/regulations along with accreditation body requirements (e.g., AAAHC)
- Managing and negotiating with vendors and third-party insurance firms along with ensuring compliance with contracts and policies
- Managing the staffing needs and the employee files and records
- Processing the credentialing of the providers
- Coordinating with surgeons and surgical teams related to clinical and equipment needs
- Overseeing all human resource needs including updating policies and procedures, recruiting staff, running payroll, onboarding employees, negotiating employee benefits, etc
- Assisting the clinical team with risk management and safety of the surgery center
- Overseeing budgeting, accounts receivable, and invoice management in addition to collaborating with the Revenue Cycle Manager
- Negotiating with payers and managing on-going payer relationships
- Meeting with the leadership team monthly or more frequently as needed to share operational and financial progress and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred
- At least 4 years of experience leading and managing an ambulatory surgery center
- Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) credential preferred
- Experience as an RN in an ambulatory surgery center operating room
- Familiar with regulatory guidelines established under federal and/or state laws
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document while adhering to quality standards
- Strong drive to perform their duties in a professional and timely manner
- Ability to work well with the staff, physicians, surgeons, vendors, patients and others
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
