The Alumni Coordinator will develop and manage engagement programs for SOBA NJ's alumni chapter. This involves creating and organizing events, meetings, and activities both on-site and off-site to foster connections among alumni, patients, and their families. The role includes managing communication, volunteer coordination, and providing support to ensure successful long-term recovery for alumni.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Alumni Introduction and Engagement:**
- Introduce the alumni association to new individuals and families during their treatment at SOBA.
- Manage and display alumni association information on-site for visibility and accessibility.
- Ensure pre-discharge patients have consented to alumni communications and are well-informed about upcoming events.
2. **Event and Meeting Organization:**
- Plan and coordinate meetings and events, both on-site and off-site, to support recovery and build alumni connections.
- Lead alumni-sponsored events and virtual meetings, creating opportunities for patients and alumni to connect.
3. **Volunteer Coordination:**
- Organize meetings to discuss volunteer opportunities and implement innovative volunteer training programs.
- Participate in and support volunteer activities and calls throughout the year.
4. **Alumni Support and Communication:**
- Conduct regular well-being check-ins with discharged alumni.
- Maintain communication with regional alumni, families, and friends through various channels.
- Assist with connecting alumni with patients and other alumni to enhance the support network.
5. **Community Engagement:**
- Promote and help implement community 12-step and recovery-centric meetings in the local area.
6. **Administrative Duties:**
- Collect testimonials and reviews to highlight SOBA’s services.
- Maintain organizational records and use tools like Microsoft Office, social media, and potentially Salesforce.
**Education and Experience:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields (Social Work, Public Administration, etc.) preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in volunteer management or related fields, ideally within addiction treatment.
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Creativity and ability to think innovatively.
