SOBA New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced, Primary Therapist to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be responsible for providing direct services to adult clients and their families enrolled in SOBA New Jersey, including individual, group, and family therapy. In collaboration with treatment team staff, the Primary Therapist ensures quality of care provided to clients in day treatment and intensive outpatient settings, according to client’s needs and level of care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to-
· Receive, review and promptly respond to intake referrals upon assignment of the case
· Conduct Bio/Psych/Social assessments, diagnose and formulate treatment plans
· Check-in with clients at the following frequency: weekly for the first month in PCS/IOP. Frequency to be determined thereafter on an as-needed basis.
· Ability to manage caseload of clients, based upon experience
· Complete and assist clients in aftercare and discharge planning
· Provide direct clinical services, including individual, group, family and/or couples therapy to clients and their families
· Provide clinical services at all levels of care as needed
· Provide case management services as needed, including referrals to outside resources when necessary
· Ensures cohesion of all services documented within the clinical chart (including but not limited to services provided by case management, medical providers and the laboratory), and assists with compliance of various standards.
· Maintain accurate, thoroughly documented client records with a quality of documentation that meets all applicable standards in Kipu based on daily log
· Ability to utilize electronic health record system to input all clinical documentation
· Attend and participate in treatment team meetings on a weekly basis to ensure quality of care for clients
· Consult with Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Director for an update on client needs, special incidents, level of care transfers, etc.
· Attend staff development and general staff meetings
· Attend staff and clinical trainings
· Communicate with Medical Director to ensure quality clinical services are provided to the client on a timely and as needed basis
· Participate in and attend supervision/consultation with clinical management team
· Conducts initial insurance authorizations, ongoing utilization review, and holds a caseload for ongoing review
· Assist with missed treatment communication, including missed UA letters, setting a deadline regarding missed treatment, making up group sessions
· Ensure structure in individual sessions including providing First Step Prep in first session
· Maintain to make family contact within the first week of client entering treatment to invite to multi- family group, is aware of frequency of family involvement throughout treatment
· Collaborates with members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure effective delivery of a full spectrum of clinical services
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Must be able to communicate with clients and staff members through various forms of communication, including email, phone
· Computer literacy is required. Must be able to use Word, Excel, etc. Experience on Kipu is a plus
· Masters in Social Work, Psychology or related field AND:
o Current license (NJ) to practice independently as LCSW, LMFT or LPC OR
o Current license (NJ) to practice as LSW, MFTI, LAC working toward above licenses PLUS two years of post-master’s experience working with adult population in a treatment center setting
· LCADC or CADC is required
