Role description
We are seeking highly skilled Construction Managers to oversee and ensure the quality of our construction projects, specifically focusing on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) components, and Clean Utilities.
While these roles are listed together, we are considering one candidate per specific role to ensure specialized expertise and attention to detail. These roles are essential to ensure that our facilities are built to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Clean Utilities:
- Oversee the installation of CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) components related to clean utilities, including underground plumbing, electrical systems, and instrumentation and controls (I&C).
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to resolve construction-related issues and align on utility requirements.
- Provide expertise in the installation and integration of facility utilities such as steam and water systems.
- Conduct regular field inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance with project timelines.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address construction challenges and ensure seamless integration of clean utilities with other building systems.
- Maintain detailed records of construction activities, issues, and resolutions.
CSA Focus:
- Conduct thorough inspections of CSA installations to ensure compliance with project designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor the construction of architectural, structural, and civil components to identify and resolve any deficiencies.
- Collaborate with contractors and project teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Perform audits to verify the alignment of CSA installations with industry standards and project documentation.
- Document and report findings from quality control inspections, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Support other construction quality aspects as needed to ensure smooth project delivery.
MEP Focus:
- Oversee and ensure the quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system installations in the field.
- Review and verify the accuracy of MEP submittals, specifications, and installation plans.
- Conduct inspections and audits of MEP systems to ensure compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and address issues related to MEP quality, collaborating with contractors and vendors as needed.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure MEP installations integrate seamlessly with other systems.
- Document and communicate quality control findings to stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations.
- Support quality control efforts in other areas as needed based on project demands.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong construction experience, particularly with CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) installations for utilities.
- Proven experience in quality control for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) installations.
- Familiarity with facility utilities such as steam, water systems, and clean utility requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industries is highly preferred.
- Availability to start in March/April is preferred.
Additional Preferred Skills Across All Roles:
- Familiarity with construction and utility systems in pharmaceutical environments.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) are advantageous.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools for documentation and reporting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
