Position Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will oversee and manage the engineering and construction processes of data center projects, ensuring their completion on time, within budget, and in accordance with all relevant quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including contractors, vendors, and other engineers, to deliver high-performance, reliable, and secure data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination :
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for data center construction or upgrade projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that all engineering tasks are aligned with the overall project timeline.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure design specifications meet client requirements and comply with industry standards.
Engineering Support :
Provide engineering expertise in electrical, mechanical, and IT systems for data center operations (power, cooling, UPS, HVAC, BMS, etc.).Perform technical reviews of drawings, specifications, and equipment to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.Troubleshoot engineering issues and provide solutions during project execution.Vendor & Contractor Management :
Manage and coordinate relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of services and materials.Oversee quality control of construction work to meet design specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.Ensure all project work complies with safety regulations and quality standardBudget & Cost Management :
Monitor project budgets and expenses, reporting any cost variations and assisting in corrective actions to stay within budget.Assist in preparing project cost estimates, procurement schedules, and contracts.Risk Management :
Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to address any potential delays or obstacles.Implement proactive solutions to avoid project disruptions and ensure timely project delivery.Documentation & Reporting :
Maintain detailed records of project progress, including status reports, technical documents, and project timelines.Regularly report project progress to senior leadership, highlighting any issues or delays.Ensure all required project documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and stored properly for future reference.Commissioning & Handover :
Oversee the commissioning of new data center infrastructure, ensuring all systems function optimally before handover.Ensure the proper handover process, including necessary training and support for operations teams.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on data center design, construction, or operations.Previous experience managing large-scale data center projects is strongly preferredTechnical Skills :
Solid understanding of data center infrastructure, including power systems, HVAC, cooling, network connectivity, and fire protection systems.Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software for reviewing engineering drawings.Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent).Knowledge of industry standards, such as Uptime Institute or TIA-942.Certifications (Preferred) :
PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.LEED certification or knowledge of sustainability practices is a plus.
