Description The Safety Manager will prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees. Responsible for making sure that employees follow health and safety laws and creating policies for a safer work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assessment and evaluation across all construction projects
- Reviewing and assessing the health & safety implications of changes as they occur during a construction project
- Developing and implementing reporting and communications structures on health and safety management performance for each project to enable the accurate assessment and actively engaging with all aspects of day-to-day health and safety management
- Attendance, and participation in meetings with management and personnel as Attending planning and coordination reviews, for both day-to-day and longer-term safety planning for work activities
- Assisting in the evaluation of the effectiveness of Health & Safety planning at the site level, through the assessment of communications with all parties; including contractors, workers, and supervisors
- Carrying out independent Health & Safety audits on all aspects of construction management including monitoring compliance between health and safety planning and works on site
- Assess compliance with agreed KPIs across all project stages
- Coordinate work activities on the sites
- Identify, assess, and evaluate high-risk activities
- Conduct training and education
- Assist and review safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc. competency of contractors and operatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
