Sobo & Sobo continues to grow rapidly and is looking for a self-motivated, entry-level Legal Assistant in Poughkeepsie, NY. This position will ensure the smooth running of the office and effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal assistance under the supervision of Paralegals and Attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to paralegals and lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
- Communication and correspondence with clients, insurance companies, medical facilities, etc.
- Request medical records and police reports
- Conduct documentary research
- Locate and develop case-relevant information
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain contact lists
Skills
- Proficiency in English
- Proven working experience in customer service and/or clerical industry
- Computer literacy
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
- Must be motivated and seeking long-term growth in a legal career
