Summary
The Electrician is responsible to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems while using electrician's hand tools and power tools as well as general maintenance and repair of facility areas, cleaning and safety of all guest and employee areas as well as parking lot, grounds and adjacent lots to include any off-property site used by the company. This position supports operations in ensuring use-ready and compliant facilities and utilities, including troubleshooting, completion of preventive maintenance, and the completion of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) related documentation. The Electrician provides feedback and recommendations to management on relevant topics including the planning of maintenance work, project management tasks, and the investigation and resolution of unusual situations.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform, as part of a team, a wide variety of tasks to maintain facility in a best in class for guest experience. Interface with customers, vendors, and team members in support of facility initiatives, work request completion, or other duties as assigned in a professional and team-oriented manner.
- Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
- Utilize positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external), at all times.
- Interpret specifications in blueprints, sketches, building plans, or wire diagrams to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
- Assist the Facilities department in the maintenance, repair, cleaning, and safety of all guest and employee areas as well as parking lot, grounds, and adjacent lots to include any off-property site used by the company.
- Perform preventive maintenance on parking lot/building lighting, electrical systems, motors, and equipment, which includes the safe operation of an aerial equipment and large construction equipment.
- Perform skilled electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work involving all Soboba Casino Resort property.
- Testing and diagnosing and troubleshooting faulty electrical components.
- Perform Inspections throughout the property.
- Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
- Repair and/or replace defective or worn electrical parts, components, and controlling software in electrical systems and devices, electrical motors, generators, pumps, etc.
- Install communication, fiber, and other cable and lines.
- Maintain logs, preventative maintenance requests, and reports for all equipment.
- Updates as-builds and panel schedules due to changes, additions, deletions.
- Works safely with live current (hot work).
- Perform work at heights, in emergencies, and hazardous situations.
- Assist with requisitions, provides estimates/specifications for supplies and materials necessary to complete projects.
- Apply State, Federal, and local safety regulations and codes to electrical work.
- Follow established safety rules, regulations, and maintain a safe, clean work environment. Ensure that all OSHA, NFPA, and NEC safety regulations and Soboba policies are being adhered to.
- Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.
Education / Qualifications
- Must be 21 Years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- An Associate of Arts or Certificate of Arts Degree in Electrical Technology from an accredited college or Trade school may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of sufficient experience as a journey level electrician in a municipal, commercial, or industrial environment to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as an Electrician.
- Completion of a formal electrical apprentice program required.
- Sufficient experience as a journey level electrician in a municipal, commercial, or industrial environment to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above.
- Basic understanding of overhead line construction, National Electric Code, Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards is required.
- Any combination of education beyond the minimum requirement as well as any experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary will be considered.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
- Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Certificates, licenses and registration
- Must possess a California Driver’s License and a clean driving record (less than 3 points).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
